Kelp Harvesting

If you were one of the people that responded to Marine Scotland regarding the pre-application by Marine Biopolymers Ltd. for a license to dredge the seabed for kelp, then you may like to know that the Scoping Advice Letter to them has been published by Marine Scotland. You can download it from http://marine.gov.scot/mslot-all-application-and-project-documentation.

If you fill in the search box above “Document Type” with “Seaweed” it will reduce the list to the relevant documents.

There is no facility to register an interest in future publication on this matter, but if you email Marine Scotland requesting they let you know, you may be lucky! Their email address is MS@marinelicensing.gov.scot.

Struan Community Trust Call for Trustee Nominations and call for AGM

The Struan Community Trust AGM will take place on the 25th June 2018 at 7.00 PM at the school see here for details.

The Struan Community Trust is also calling for nominations for Trustees. The nomination form is here. Closing date for nominations Friday 22nd June 2018.

Beach Clean – Eabost Round 2 – Thursday 26th April till late

After the successful beach clean at Loch Beag on 10^th April, we also managed to fill a skip to overflowing at Eabost on Saturday 14^th. Many thanks to all people who came along and helped. However this still left quite a lot of debris on the beach at Eabost.

THC have agreed to provide another skip on Thursday 26^th April, to try and get rid of the rest of the rubbish, so please come along and assist for whatever time you can spare on Thursday during the day or evening, your help would be much appreciated!
