Highland Council Budget Challenge 2026-2029

The Council has launched its budget engagement exercise as part of the 2026-2029 budget setting process and we are seeking involvement from members of the public, including businesses, community groups, parents, and young people.

Feedback from our communities will help councillors understand what matters most to people and inform the decisions they take when setting out spending commitments in March 2026.

People can offer their views in a number of ways.

There is also a specific community group survey for groups to complete.  This is also available attached, to ease discussion at group meetings.

We would please ask you to share this with members of your community for individuals to complete but also encourage you as a group to respond.

Feedback to help shape the budget proposal for 2026/27 will be presented to a meeting of the Highland Council at the beginning of March for discussion and approval by elected members.

The Highland Council budget consultation closes on 5 January.

Thank you for completing the survey.

Christmas Shopping Trip – 13th December

Can’t believe how quickly the year has gone by?  Fancy a day out?  Join us for a Christmas shopping trip to Inverness on Saturday 13th December 2025, leaving Struan Green at 0800 hrs, arriving back around 2000-2100 hrs.

All welcome, travel is free for all members of Struan Community.  Friends of community members are welcome to come, for a small charge, if numbers allow for this.

We are very grateful to D J Morrison who has bravely volunteered to drive us there and back in the minibus.

This will take 8 passengers, 10 at a squeeze, plus all their shopping, and is on a first come, first served basis.

Please email Sarah Illingworth on sarah@theoldmanseskye.com if you would like to book a seat or ring her on 0777 6116920 if you have any questions.

Deadline for reservations is Monday 1st December 2025 and Struan Admin will advise everyone when the quota has been filled.  However, do leave your contact details etc if you would like to go on the waiting list in case of any cancellation.

Looking forward to a great day out!
