The Struan Act of Remembrance will be held on The Green at the war memorial on Saturday November 9th starting at 10:45am.
Tea & coffee will be served afterwards in the school.

Coffee in the Classroom is back and will be held every fortnight from 10:30 to 12:30 on Saturdays starting 5th October and will continue through till the end of March. All are welcome. Each session has a nominated supervisor (this week it is Tanda). Please note, the supervisor is there to open up and lock up. He or she is not there to make your drinks or wash up, so please serve yourself.
The next Craft Night will be on Thursday 3rd October from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, all are welcome.
The draft minutes for the last Community Council meeting are available for viewing on the web site or Here and the next Community Council Meeting will take place on 8th October at 7:00pm at the school.
The web site now has a Struan Calendar on it (follow the link from the home page) or you can view it here. The calendar is primarily there for “what’s on at the school” but if you are holding other community relevant events and want them published in the calendar then drop the site admin a note with the details at:
website_admin@struancommunity.co.uk
There is an information leaflet about the digital switchover available in the “useful links” page on the web site or can be viewed by following the link below:
The skip is full to overflowing, please do not put any more in it, and would the person that put dining room chairs in it please come and collect them as they are on the prohibited list and will not be taken away.
Thank you to all those that responded to the questionnaire and the results are below. On the basis of the responses we plan to have Saturday Morning Coffee every fortnight from October to March starting on 5th October. We will be in contact with those who offered to assist with supervising so we can put a schedule together.
The skip will be available from Friday 6th September (not 6th August as in the last post)
Sorry, incompetent Admin still living in the past (again)
There will be a skip at the re-cycling point from Friday 6th August for use by Struan residents. Please do not leave anything outside the skip and do not fill it above the level of the sides as it will not be taken away. Also please note that there are many items that are not allowed in the skip (see note below). If any of these are found in the skip the community will be charged a substantial fee based on the weight of the whole skip. If this happens there will be no further Community Skips (which would be a shame).
If you want to fill in the questionnaire sent out yesterday, you will need to do so via the web site and not by filling out the form on the email you received. Alternatively you can go straight to the questionnaire by following the link below:
As a trial, we ran fortnightly Saturday coffee mornings at the school from March to June. Attendance was variable and became less and less as the summer (if you dare call it that) progressed. We are only too happy to restart them again if the community would like them so please complete the questionnaire below so we can best decide how to proceed. Thank you.
